It's been an even more tortuous week for the nation as players threatened to go on strike over their treatment regarding contracts and security for their futures. I think it was Thursday before the match was confirmed as definitely on. So what with that plus a new (old) coach rebuilding the team with new young players no-one expected Wales to win. And they didn't. But it wasn't a record score against them as it has been the last two games.
So as good as a win really. (We Welsh supporters live in hope.)
But enough of that, you want to hear how the clothes sale went.
Not brilliantly.
As feared we hadn't advertised it enough and because Zac's is on a side street we didn't get passing trade. We had four people call in and buy clothes. Tamsin, Harry and I each bought some too so we took about £60 all together.
But we also gave away clothes to those who needed them and had the opportunity to pray for someone. And we let one tired young mum just sit for a while. Having Zac's doors open and being welcoming is as important - if not more so - than raising money. So we'll do it again but try and advertise better.
And we had our very own security dog on duty.

We were fortunate that it was a glorious day.
P.S. Regarding the man who called me 'doll'. He was probably in his 30s, so an unusual term for him but it wasn't said in a derogatory way and he wasn't anything other than grateful. So I was fine about it.

That is one fierce guard dog! And such a young man to have used the term "doll" -- but who knows, maybe that old slang is coming back into currency?
I'm glad the day went well, even though sales weren't big. Good things happened. And your guard dog got a day's work, so there's that.
I think rugger is all about settling scores, so I've never got much into it. But I guess there's actual skill involved, too!
What a cute guard dog you had. Too bad the sale didn't do so well.
