I went to the library to return a book determined not to borrow another until I've read what I've got. Then I saw Alan Rickman's Diaries. It's a Q-buster too so is supposed to be returned in a week - but that's Boxing Day so I guess I'll have a few extra days to finish it.
Then this afternoon I bought some fill-your-own crackers. It's part of my eco-friendly Christmas thing. Originally I'd decided to forego crackers altogether but as there will be five children here I wavered and capitulated.
In the past I've filled my own crackers and I should have remembered from that how impossible it it to get items small enough, cheap enough, and not totally plastic tat to fit in.
I gave up and have come up with a cunning plan instead. But it still means buying extra presents. Just when I thought I'd finished.
After all, why opt for the simple life when you can make it complicated?

I was a big fan of Alan Rickman's -- you'll have to let us know if his diaries make for good reading!
Immediately thinking of Barchester Towers here..
I think you probably need to start on the crackers in September, to get nice tiny non nasty toys for them. Do you do the little cap explosive too?
