It's 5.30 on Christmas Eve evening and I'm sitting down!
When I found out that Zac's wasn't on the food serving rota this week I thought, "Yay, I can have a nice relaxing week." I should know better. Each day's to-do list was made longer by the items from the previous day shunted forward. And those cursed cracker gifts!
That's not to say it's been all work. We attended a belated birthday party for Elder Son yesterday evening and today we had a lovely walk with the dogs followed by lunch at Daughter's. It's so lovely being fed.
But I am determined: Monday and Tuesday I am doing absolutely nothing. (Reading, jigsaws, television watching, and walking excluded of course.)
Yesterday I put my new Christmas bedding on. It was surprisingly inexpensive - which is probably why the pillow cases have run already - but it did cheer me up. And it's flannelette so it's lovely and soft and cwtchy.
And having seen someone's cinnamon star on Twitter I asked her for the recipe and made it. I intended to take it to the birthday party yesterday but it didn't rise very well so I left it until today to finish. It was quite nice but a bit heavy and stodgy - rising problems I guess. I will make it again because the idea is nice but I'll use a different dough recipe. This one included dry milk powder and instant mashed potatoes.
