Christmas is definitely coming

Put up the Christmas tree at Zac's on Tuesday.

The string of beads isn't right yet. I never quite know what to do with them. But while on the topic of Zac's, as you know, I cook chilli for thirty each week. I use a 2.25 kg bag of frozen mince. After I've browned it I tip away the excess fat. It's normally been around a few fl oz but for the last six weeks or so it's gone up to over half a pint. Probably four times as much as previously.

Someone suggested it's so the manufacturers don't have to either reduce the size or increase the price of the bag. That make sense with prices of food going up everywhere. But yuck. Half a pint of solid fat.

* * * * *
This morning we went and chose our Christmas tree. It's up but not decorated yet so here's a photo of a reindeer instead.

Charming tree and reindeer! The fat, not so much.

Is the fat useful for anything,, I wonder? My frugal soul instantly kicking in. Nice tree.

Shouldnt that be a six pointed star on the tree? Line of David and all that? Its Mephistopheles who has the pentagram.

@anon,
no, Mephistopheles cannot stand the pentagram, read your Faust (by Goethe)!

I first read "frozen mince" as frozen mice.
