All gone

Went to the shop which held the promise of Christmas light-up jumpers only to be disappointed. All gone.

Also, incidentally, they did not have an orange zester.

But from there I went to visit my cousin in her nursing home. I did a Covid test before going but forgot to take it with me so had to spend thirty minutes in a cold shed doing another. My cousin was . . . okay.

Oh, yes, that's what I was going to tell you. Yesterday I walked into the kitchen and told Alexa to play me some Christmas music. There was a moment's silence and then she said, "Good afternoon," for all the world sounding offended that I had made my demand without the proper niceties beforehand.

I don't think she's ever done that before.

Too bad about the light-up sweaters! And I hope you manage to get back on Alexa's good side.

Alexa sounds a bit sensitive. Does she listen to every word you say, or do you have to say her name first to get her attention?

Whoa - I don't think we have light-up sweaters/sweatshirts here in small town TX. Too bad for us. Siri gets to be the same way if I make a demand - she pauses, pauses, and if I repeat, she will tell me to wait a minute, she looking.

Not being a Siri user (I find that sassing myself is enough without enabling AI), I found your story and the comments from Terra and Pam to be hilarious. Yikes!
