On the spur of the moment on Saturday I invited the family to dinner on Sunday which meant I had to think what to give them.
I had planned to cook a small ham for Husband and me and I know several of the grandchildren like ham but Daughter is vegetarian. I ummed and aahed and decided on a larger ham plus a nut roast.
Now a sensible person would have ordered a nut roast with the last-minute high speed online Sainsburys order I did; I decided I'd make my own.
And while I was at it I'd cook braised red cabbage, macaroni cheese and a sort of mildly spicy cauliflower dish I'd just come across a recipe for. And I'd have to do it in the morning because I wanted to go for a walk in the afternoon.
So that was how I spent Sunday morning - after I'd cleaned the bathroom.

Now today, Monday, I decided I wouldn't go with Husband to walk Toby. I'd stay home and do some of the many things that need doing housework-wise.
But the sun is shining and what does that poem say? Something about dusting can wait till another day.
I also want to write again. I have an idea for a new novel but before I start that I should probably finish the one I'm halfway through, not to mention publishing the other two I've already finished, plus the ghost-written autobiography.
I saw a post on Twitter last week announcing the opening of a new online publisher, and asking for submissions. Again I ummed and aahed and decided I wasn't quite ready yet for more rejection. But I must pull myself together and do some promotion of my already self-published novels again, ready for the Christmas rush. (If only.)
And I haven't even mentioned the new books I got from the library today or my TBR pile.
Or my jigsaws. Or Christmas shopping.

Otherwise you're quite unoccupied! Nut roast? I have to check this out. You cooked more than I do for Thanksgiving.
https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/nut-loaf - Boud, this is the recipe I used this tie.
So much to do! That macaroni and cheese looks yummy!
Thanks for the link to the nut loaf recipe. I've always found the BBC recipes to be worth the effort of me converting the baking details to Fahrenheit standards.
