A fun sort of guy

A nice walk yesterday in the woods once we'd rescued Toby who'd managed to get stuck in a garden.

The wall was too high for him to jump out - although he must have jumped in - stupid dog! - so Husband had to find a way into the gated estate. Some time and phone calls later he was in and, fortunately, the back gate to the garden wasn't locked so Toby could be set free. There was no-one in the house - possibly second homes or letting - so I had visions of Husband having to hang onto my legs as I dangled over the wall to retrieve Toby. Glad it didn't come to that.

It was a good fungi day too.
And I brought home more conkers which I have now put in a bowl in the corner of our bedroom to see if they really do keep spiders away.
This morning we walked down to the playing fields to watch GrandSon1 play football. The final result was a 2-2 draw, which was as good as a win for his side who've not had a win this season. Last time they played this particular side they lost 10-3 so a definite improvement.

Oh, and last night we watched the latest episode of Bloodlands, a police drama set in Northern Ireland. At the end of the first season we discovered that James Nesbitt, who plays the lead, is a baddie. James Nesbitt was in Cold Feet if you saw that comedy drama few years ago. Actually more than a few. He was young then. Now he has these thick bushy black eyebrows that he's probably always had but now they just irritate me because they look out of place.

Anyway that wasn't what I was going to say. Towards the end of this episode my hands leapt to my face and I screamed, "No!"

It's not often a television programme provokes that sort of response from me. And the next episode hasn't aired yet so I have to wait to see what happens now. Gosh, remember when we always had to wait a week between episodes? Before we could binge-watch? How did we manage?!

P.S. Big apologies to Mr Nesbitt. Apparently he's admitted wearing false eyebrows because he's been fighting alopecia.

Dogs! If there's any trouble to get into, they'll get into it. Leaving the humans running about retrieving them. I suspect there are more human than canine retrievers.

It must have been a day for missing dogs.
I'm not sure if I have seen that programme. I'll look out for it.
