It's 4 o'clock in the afternoon and the sun has finally come out. So much for another day of heatwave! That said it's been muggy indoors where I have been writing my next BMCR talk.
My research for the talk involved looking at lots of James Bond and Indiana Jones clips since you didn't ask. Oh, and The Italian Job.
Compare that with today's action movies but still good fun if only for the look on Jaws' face as he realises he's about to hit the cable car station.
And Elder Son sent me a link to this tweet with a list of the world's best libraries. I don't know if you can open tweets if you don't have a Twitter account but there are some incredibly beautiful libraries in the world.
I spoke too soon: the sun has gone in again. And I've made rocky road for the first time.
Also I've started putting labels on my posts again. Why do we do this? What does it achieve?

You MADE “Rocky Road”?!? At least in the US, “Rocky Road” is a very famous/popular type of ice cream. If you did make this ice cream, perhaps you might be willing to share your recipe? It is one of my favorite flavors… after “Moose Tracks” and “Bear Claw”.

The video was very funny. I dunno, maybe because I've only had one cup of coffee. I too am wondering what the English version of Rocky Road is. As for labels, I use them, they are mostly useless, but occasionally one will come in handy.
Those beautiful libraries are cathedrals to learning. The only one I've been in is the Library of Parliament in Ottawa. They don't let you walk around in the library or touch anything. You have to stand at a little viewing area just inside the doors and just look around while keeping behind those velveteen ropes. It's a working library for Canadian MPs and obviously they don't want a bunch of tourists wandering around while they're looking up something in a book. Security would be a big issue too.
So many beautiful libraries. There are several I'd like to live in - like always.
