I collected my trendy new glasses today. I say 'trendy'; I mean trendy for me. My last ones were thin wire frames, the sort I hoped said, "she's not really wearing glasses." This time I am embracing my inner glasses-wearing persona.
On the way back from the optician's - oh, yes, the hearing test I was supposed to be having today has been postponed again - I called in at my favourite charity shop. I got one wetsuit, one pair of sunglasses, one glass jar, two jigsaws and three books. All for £14!
As I walked in I told myself not to look at books. My To Be Read pile is expanding faster than my waist. But I weakened and as it's 75p per book or 3 for £2, I had to get three.
I mainly wanted jigsaws. I've just finished my latest, Toys from the Fifties.
I was a child of the fifties but obviously under-privileged as the only one of these I had was a Post office.
And just because, here's another garden photo.
Going to sit in said garden now and reading the sunshine. the rest of the country is having a heatwave. We've got two sunny days with rain forecast for tomorrow.

A wet suit? Wow - nice resale shop there - ours doesn't have nearly as much cool stuff!
That was certainly a varied shopping haul. Ready for anything.
What a nice haul! I've been hitting up the thrift and charity shops for some 'new' clothes but haven't had any luck.
You did well, but a wet suit? The kind that's worn for scuba diving?
Love,
Janie
Yes, Janie, the sort worn for scuba diving or just swimming in a cold sea or pool! I'm gathering a collection of children-sized wetsuits.
