All things bright and beautiful

While many parts of the country, and indeed world, are suffering in heatwave conditions, we are blessed with cool refreshing rain. Again.

Just because it means we've had to put off the planned early Father's Day family barbecue, and preparation for the arbour has had to stop, that's fine because . . . um, it makes our grass nice and green.

Meanwhile I've just had porridge for lunch because we don't have anything else and it's my comfort food. Say no more.

But in better news the rain stayed off for Elder Son to play in a Staff and Parents Football Tournament at the boys' school yesterday afternoon. Now he hasn't played  football in a game situation for a very long time. Three games of sixteen minutes each mean his legs are going to be aching today. But on the plus side his team won!

It's been cool and rainy all week here too. Congrats to your Elder Son on his victory!

I thought of you the other day when we met an artist sketching at one of our favourite lighthouses. She was from Wales and is living here now.
