A Slice of yum

When Husband suggested we went to Slice for a meal I wasn't going to argue.

We went last night and had the taster menu again, and again everything was delicious. I would be hard pressed to choose a favourite.

Top left: pork loin, belly, black pudding, roast cabbage, celeriac and apple puree.
Top right: Quail breast and leg, herb gnocchi, tarragon sauce.
Centre left: egg custard, rhubarb sorbet and poached rhubarb.
Centre middle: halibut, charred leeks, cockle beurre blanc.
Centre right: amuse-bouche of veal pasty with home-made brown sauce.
Bottom left: chocolate souffle and peanut brittle ice cream.
Bottom centre: Lamb cutlet, neck, and shank, broccoli, salsa verde.

Then this morning, because I hadn't eaten enough, I met Vivien at Verdi's and had hazelnut ice cream sundae. (But I didn't have breakfast, please note.)

Stopped in Mumbles then to get birthday card for Son-in-law and somehow ended up buying a jumper for me. What can I say? We're going to Italy soon and I've decided if I can't lose weight then I need loose clothes.

It was a glorious morning.

By the way, Slice is so called because it's shaped like a slice of cake. The kitchen is downstairs and the restaurant, with room for up to fourteen diners is upstairs.

You see, it disappears to a point at the end.

Looks like a very interesting meal - a little of a lot.

I'd hate to be a waiter running up and down all those stairs all the time!
