The Mystery in the Freezer

I sorted out my freezer today. Admittedly mainly because I was desperate to find something for dinner tonight.

It contains: a lot of ice cream, even more ice lollies, a number of vegetarian options, bags of gooseberries, rhubarb and chilies, and, hooray, some lamb.

I also found some Slimming World syn-free meatballs, bought during an optimistic phase, but as they were best before February 21, it seemed a good excuse to throw them away. (Yes, I know that's waste but having eaten the syn-free sausages, well, I had been putting off eating them and that wasn't likely to change.)

Also came across those inevitable mystery boxes and packages.

'Of course I'll remember what it is. It's very distinctive.'

I think, and having unwrapped it it seems probable, that it's some sort of chocolate/toffee icing. However I have no recollection at all of having iced a cake with anything like that in the near or distant past. I'm going to have to taste it ...

Oh my…this describes my freezer perfectly. I’m not buying anything for the freezer for the first six months of this year!

Funny…

Maybe the mystery bag contents would perk up those meatballs?

The only freezer we have now is the one that's part of the refrigerator. It's small enough to really annoy me, but its size allows me to keep a good eye on what's in there. No mystery packages for me!

Ah yes, nice to hear others have this same problem. I try very hard to label everything that goes into the freezer. Things with no label - probably toss.

We have a chest freezer and a fridge freezer, I think I could live off the contents of them for months!!

We have two refrigerators. Both their freezers are stuffed with stuff. I only know of couple packages of meat in one. The rest is just stuff.

I have a chest freezer and the one on top of the fridge. I try to be careful about labeling because quite a few containers in the chest freezer are flowers and natural dyes. Probably wouldn't kill me, but wouldn't make much of a meal either.

And I'm familiar with that oh, I'll know what this is, it's quite distinctive, obvious, thought..
