A robot vacuum cleaner made a break for freedom after giving staff the slip at a Travelodge hotel.
The automated cleaner failed to stop at the front door of the hotel in Orchard Park in Cambridge on Thursday, and was still on the loose the following day.
The fact that this made the main BBC website makes me very happy and gives me hope.
And this from the Society of Authors' journal.
In the second and third centuries AD mass-produced gemstones flooded the Roman Empire. Many have an inscription that goes like this:
Let them say it
I don't care
Go on, love me
It does you good
This little ditty is now being studied as poetry by a Cambridge professor. In the original Greek it could be sung to the chorus of Johnny B Goode.
That little fact also appealed to me.

This morning I skipped zooming to church to go and watch GrandSon3 play football. At 8 years of age they play three matches of 15/20 minutes each. (I think it's 15 but it feels like longer when you're getting cold.)
GrandSon's team lost the first two but won the last with GrandSon3 scoring four goals!
'Four,' he replied.

Hmmm - the TOP hat trick?
The escaping Roomba has triggered endless puns on social sites! Just a gift.
@ Pam Nash -- BRILLIANT!
How do those circular vacuum cleaners clean corners? Or the stairs? Mine tried to clean some cobwebs up on the ceiling and it fell and broke!
God bless.
Two Roombas clean my floors. When the weather is nice and the backdoor is open, one of them regularly tries to go out to the deck. Congrats to grandson3 on four goals.
Love,
Janie
We had one of those robot cleaners years ago but it just kept going backwards and forwards so we gave up.
