My 'I'm so prepared' mode has inevitably let me down. Being so chilled at the start of the week means I now have too much to do at the end. But it'll get done. Or not.
Last night we had the Zac's Christmas gathering. Because of the rapidly rising covid numbers we decided, with regret, to do it online, so I gathered together some readings, short clips and carols. So far so good. Except it also meant I was the tech person for the evening. If you know me at all you will know that is a recipe for disaster.
So really the evening went quite smoothly. Except.
While I was singing away during the first carol I did wonder why most people weren't joining in, or why the one man I could hear seemed to be completely out of time with the music.
It turned out that, because I'd muted my sound so I wouldn't inflict my horrible voice on anybody, I'd also muted the sound on the carol video. That hadn't occurred to me.
Then, just as Julie Ann was about to read a monologue for us her laptop broke. That wasn't my fault! I'd like to make that clear.
But after that, apart from a bit of panicking and stressing from me, it all went okay.
As I was in charge I took the opportunity to include what is probably my favourite carol.

It sounds like it went well!
Yes, very wise to switch to an online virtual party!
Well, as Wallace would say, that went as well as could be expected, Gromit! Well done for getting through it, and it's fine.
