Christmas Eve
Got off to a good start when I tried to put on my bra over my feet, like my knickers. But improved after that.
Having all tested negative in the morning, Family came round in the afternoon with the plan of going for a walk but it was very wet so most of us stayed at home.
'It's raining.'
'No, it's stopped.'
'It's getting dark.'
'We like walking in the dark.'
They know a sucker when they see one.
'NO!'
Christmas Day
Another rainy day but lovely nevertheless. Elder Son and family joined us for lunch before Daughter and family came in the afternoon. The children played well together while the adults tried to stay awake having been kept awake the night by children unable to sleep. Or in Husband's case, forgetting to take his tablets. Don't know what my excuse was.
I forgot about crackers - also shop bought very bad environmentally - so made hats and printed out jokes and Christmas fun facts, which had to be read out preceded by a bang to create the right impression.
It would have been Rudolph him not to.

Reading about the improvised crackers made me want to join your family! My kind of people. Merry Christmas, happy new year.
You'd be very welcome, Boud!
Sounds like fun, except for the pouring rain!
Lol. I can always depend on you for a chuckle. Your rainy walk sounds wonderful in the company of grandchildren!
Sounds like a marvelous Christmas Day!
I'm still trying to figure out how someone tries to put a bra on over their feet :-)
I did a doubletake at the first sentence about "crackers". That's a relatively new addition to my vocabulary. I saw my first one about 18 months ago.
Glad you are such a sucker for your grandchildren. I'm sure that they adore you even more for your being that way.
Now, let's talk about punning. Sheesh! (I got a giggle.)
I apologize, but I am unsure about environmentally bad crackers. I am kind of assuming these are not “US” crackers….. little dry biscuit like things people put butter, peanut butter, or cheese on….. but perhaps something like a “US” firecracker? If so, I had never known of a tradition to light noisy firecrackers at Christmas. So, I am thinking those are not the crackers you mean either. If possible, please help clueless me understand.

Oh…. Perhaps they are the wrapping paper tune sized things that are decorated and filled with toys, jokes, etc that you pull apart and they make a small bang noise? I guess that is most likely. But how are the store’s brand environmentally unfriendly compared to normal ones that are ok? We typically have fun with those contraptions on New Year’s Eve….. so I think I know what you mean.

The advantage of putting your bra on over your feet, for thoese who don't know,
is that, as you get older, you don't have to pull it up so far ;-)
Thanks all.
PipeTobacco, I mean all crackers. (That you pull rather than eat!) Paper that can't usually be recycled, and containing plastic 'gifts' that are inevitably just thrown away.
Ah! Ok. I had the idea right in my second post. When you said environmentally unfriendly….. I was thinking you meant the particular store had some that were somehow especially poor environmentally…… but you are correct….. virtually all things we use and buy tend towards being environmentally unfriendly these days. Especially plastics and their endocrine disrupting components.
