Cookie in a pan

Another one of those days. Think it's going to be straightforward and it ends up being not.

Yesterday managed to write a first draft of the talk I'm giving to Monty's church. Yes, a real in person talk! Only other time I've spoken as a 'preacher' has been in prison. And that hasn't been for a while.

Then we went to Elder Son's for a family barbecue. Delicious barbecued brisket, falling apart on the plate. Have I mentioned ES is a barbecue aficionado? He has several and spends a lot of time, cooking on them, reading up about barbecuing, and planning and buying food. We have no complaints.

For pudding yesterday we had giant cookie and ice cream. (It was shared between us I mean, not that we each had a pan of cookie.

This morning I wrote most of the first draft of my next radio talk, then I had a message from Young Friend saying she wanted some sage advice. I told her I could recommend someone.

Anyway we went for a coffee - or in my case, virgin pina colada - and a walk - and ice cream.

Now I'm home and we're off for a barbecue again as the guests who were supposed to be going to Elder Son's today couldn't make it so he has food to spare. I never say no to someone cooking for me.

Then it'll be off to Zac's for our last beach-time gathering for the time being.

Busy but it feels like it's been a productive couple of days. At least it was when I'd finished shouting at the computer for lying to me.

Oh, and I cancelled our appointment at the vet's. George seems to have got over his loopiness. He seemed better when the children were here so we are wondering if he gets bored. 'He is intelligent,' Husband said. 'We need to stimulate him intellectually.'

He did have that problem as a young dog so it's conceivable. I suppose.

I didn't know you were in prison. Sheesh, you think you know someone . . . .

Are they trying to starve you - not giving your own pan of cookie? Tsk! It all sounds good.

Glad to hear that George is doing better.
