Traditional first swim of the year post.
Pool temperature 19 degrees.
I sat on the edge and dangled my feet in. When my lower limbs had gone numb I climbed down the ladder and stood on tiptoe until the numbing had moved upwards. Then it was flat on my feet. The next option was to go up to my chin.
In about a minute my whole body was numb so it was fine, and I swam about thirty lengths (probably equivalent to about five in a public swimming pool but felt like a lot to me.)I do hope the lovely weather we're having at the start of June signifies the beginning of a real summer, for a change.
