Husband said, 'When I saw that photo I wondered who the old woman was and why you'd put her photo on your blog.'
Obviously normally he never sees me without make-up or my hair freshly done. And in my pinny serving him a delicious meal I spent all afternoon preparing because I know it's his favourite.Oh no, wait, I'm getting confused myself with a perfect 50s housewife.
What it actually says, is that* he sees me as he remembers me not as I am. That saves him having to pay attention any more!

The eyes of love see only youth and beauty.
My partner looked at a photo of me when I was in my 20's and said "Ah yes, now I remember who I fell in love with". Git. :D
I'm not sure that's entirely true, Debra. Husband can be quite blunt on times!
But she's still with you, Joe.
My husband does not recognize me in old photos. "Who is that holding the baby?", circa 1959, or "Who is that in your house in Albuquerque?", circa 1989. It is well enough that he recognizes this old woman as his main squeeze, I guess - lol.
I think, many times, spouses open mouth and speak before engaging brain. Perhaps what is needed then is a smack upside the head to jiggle things loose and get the brain reengaged.
