I had neither energy nor enthusiasm for my run this morning.
It didn't help that I was two minutes into it when I realised I needed a wee. Fortunately the public toilets are Blackpill were open so I could pop in there but, on reflection, I should have paused my timer. The fact that I didn't meant I had a very slow time. (Nothing to do with my running speed of course.)
This week it was supposed to be 4 minutes high intensity followed by 3 minutes low intensity, four times. I decided I'd ignore that and just do my own thing. Which meant running for short bursts (very short) interspersed with jogging and brisk walking. To get a proper picture of what I am describing you should know that my running at full speed doesn't allow me to keep up with a 2-year-old.
Much like the first week I kept thinking, 'Perhaps I should give up, not finish the program.' But then I'd tell myself this is week five meaning I only have three more to go. 'So you're more than halfway there.'
I will probably continue just because it will be an achievement. But I'm definitely not taking up running.
