Getting married Italian style

The daily jigsaw that I do online today has an image of a wedding in Tuscany. It reminded me of Younger Son's wedding in Italy, and that seemed a good enough reason to show some photos.

The bride arrived in a specially-adapted sidecar/trolley.

As we were going into the church the choir sang the hymn, 'Guide me O Thou Great Redeemer.' They learned it specially at YS's request. It is sung traditionally at Welsh rugby matches.

It was quite a long service as the bride had to translate a lot.

Younger Son discovered it was hard work to manoeuvre as he rode into a post.
While waiting for the bride and groom to arrive at the reception - they were having photos taken - a buffet was laid out to keep us going.

Quite honestly I'd have been happy just sitting down with this cheese and grapes - but no, we had to work our way through fourteen courses followed by a short interval followed by supper. You can imagine how hard it was.

Cutting the cake.

Husband, me and our children. Please note, Elder Son did dress up for the actual wedding but too much food and heat drove him into his more casual clothes.

It was a beautiful wedding and a wonderful holiday.

Great photos and videos! But I hope that, contrary to strict kilt-wearing tradition, that your son had underwear on for that balloon bursting game!

Nice photos! I have never seen a bicycle like that one with a side seating position before. It does appear that it would be cumbersome to navigate.

Fourteen courses, good grief! That would totally defeat me. My lunch is usually a peanut better sandwich. Yes, cheese and grapes would be quite enough.

It looks like a great celebration.

He did, Debra! Thankfully.

It was put together by the bride's father and brother I think, Pipetobacco.

They were very spread out courses, Nick, and small portions - although they did keep coming around and offering more!

It was, Marie, fantastic.
