As we were given lots of yummy cheese for Christmas I thought we'd have it for lunch/dinner today with bread and soup.
I found an interesting recipe for cheesy garlic bread and set about making it.
First problem: not enough bread flour. Hm, plain flour will probably work.
Second problem: need clear honey. I found a jar in the pantry of what I assumed was clear honey. Fortunately I tasted it before dolloping it in - which would have been my normal procedure so my spidy senses must have been tingling - and it wasn't honey. It's more jelly-like but I'm not sure what it is.
However set honey turns clear if you warm it. (Yes, I expect you all knew that anyway.)I made the dough and stuck it in the airing cupboard to rise while I made the butternut soup - complete with chillies from my Christmas table decoration: beautiful and useful a bit like me. (Ha ha.)
Leaving the soup to cook I checked the bread recipe for oven temperature.
Third problem: I was supposed to roll it out and put it in a tin before leaving it to rise.
Oh well, it wasn't in the airing cupboard that long. Note to Self: read recipes properly, don't assume.
Anyway after all that lunch was delicious.
Except now I have eaten way too much.
And Husband ordered new weighing scales for us and he is going to start weighing again tomorrow. I want to leave it another week, until most of the goodies have been consumed. Maybe it's best to frighten myself now though.

I love cheesy bread and that loaf looks delicious!
The bread and soup look so luscious that I can almost enjoy the delicious aroma. Maybe I'll be a copycat for our lunch, today. (Planning meals is beyond my endurance; so - I unabashedly copy other people's ideas.)
You can cook for me anytime :-)
That bread looks delicious, very tempting!
mmmm two favourites, they look absolutely scrumptious, well done.
Interesting find in the cupboard! What will you use if for now that you know the flavor?
The book you wrote quickly is very exciting!!!! I am happy you were able to accomplish it!!
Your soup and bread look delicious!!!
Since you mentioned the self publishing (of the book).... just a little reminder that I would LOVE someday for you to write about how that process is for you with Amazon. It is an interesting idea! Or, if you have written about it on another of your blogs in the past and I did not see it, could you link to the essays and/or discussion of it?
