A friend put up a post on Facebook about little things that really annoy us, and it reminded me.
When we had our kitchen refitted 11 years ago we had it designed by the man in the shop. However when the fitter started fitting it he discovered that the dishwasher couldn't open if we had the handles we'd chosen on the corner cupboard.
I was all for going and shouting at the designer for failing to see this basic error, and demanding a new kitchen/full refund/an apology, but Husband calmed me down.
All the other cupboards had been fitted and, because of the limited space, there was very little that could be done to change the situation. So it had to be bodged.
This is the end result.
Not only is the handle different but we have two little holes where the original was fitted before the problem was discovered. We planned to get those little stopper things to put in but never did.
For 11 years I have had to walk into the kitchen and be faced with this.
I had to check back through my blog to find out when we'd had the kitchen done: I was thinking it was about six years ago. Eleven years. Time for a new one soon ... (Not really. I am very happy with my kitchen, irritants aside.)

Those years sure slip by quickly. Before you know it, eleven years is gone. At least the time felt shorter not longer!
Sometimes redo is more expensive than the error was worth and sometimes the "fix" is worse than living with the error. Glad you've been able to ignore the irritant for 11 years. Good luck in keeping it up.
Get out the duct tape again to cover those holes!
It is the (relatively) little things that drive us nuts.
Men just don't get it.. it would have irked me too.. even 11 years later.
It too would aggravate me, so I understand your feelings.
