Younger Son and Nuora had set up Blue Temple Conservation project in the Perhentian Islands and we went to visit them. We stayed on the 'touristy' island; they lived a short boat ride away on an island with one village and no roads.
On our island.
View from the bar. |
The beach around the corner. |
Their island.
The house they and their volunteers lived in |
The local supermarket |
They arranged for us to have a traditional meal in a village home. Absolutely delicious. |
And they provided traditional dress for us to wear too. |
It was a wonderful and amazing holiday.

It looks wonderful especially since it involved family.
It was and we did. Thanks!
That is so cool that you were able to travel to Malaysia and Vietnam! How exciting and enriching!!!!! I have only been off of North America once when I was able to arrange a presentation for my research at an international conference in India. It was utterly amazing and a tremendous experience. I *hope* someday to be able to wrangle a trip to Europe. I would also really like to visit Mexico and some of Africa (for me, I tend to think regions of Northern Africa would be especially exciting as a biologist).

Looks like a wonderful vacation.
