Yesterday we arranged to meet Younger Son and family for a walk. It's a bit outside the allowed five mile radius but I definitely heard someone say that if you're concerned for the well-being of your family you can travel a bit further. And I was concerned for the well-being of me.
We walked along the river Tawe just east or north (I'm not too hot on direction) of Pontardawe (meaning bridge on the Tawe).
GrandSon4 is so fast on his bike I don't stand a chance of keeping up! GrandDaughter3, who's 17 months old and hasn't seen us since lockdown, was a little clingy to Mum at first but I got smiles out of her before we parted again. And she seemed happy enough to wander around with me. She is a very independent child, walking and running everywhere.
Then we came home and sat in the sun in the garden. I have been listening to a podcast, Older and Wider. It's a discussion between two women of a certain age, and I've been enjoying it. Last week I emailed them to ask about chin hair. On this week's podcast they read out my email and talked about it! I am famous. Sort of. Almost. One of the women, Jenny Eclair, a comedian, only has about five hairs on her chin and doesn't find it a problem. Fortunately the other woman, Judith, does suffer with the never-ending problem of a bushy chin.
I suggested that I might be able to get a research grant to investigate ways and means. They seemed to doubt that I would be able to get a PhD out of it but they obviously haven't seen some of the subjects for which grants are given. For instance whether wearing wet underwear has a detrimental effect, and sword swallowing and its side effects.
Then, as the sun was shining, I made pizza for tea. I put the dough in the greenhouse to rise; the airing cupboard isn't warm enough in summer.

Chin hair! The scourge of older women's lives, LOL!
Hope you enjoyed the pizza before any further investigation on the side-effects of sword swallowing.
I await your PhD on chin hair and self-esteem with interest....
I think women's chin hair is a perfectly reasonable subject for a PhD. Grant givers should throw money at you! Glad to got to see your family and the grands. Makes for a nice warm happy memory for the long boring days!
