I've never had a proper full-on panic attack but this moment felt very much as if it could easily build into one, as if the world might fall in on me. I focused on getting a grip and breathing, and, thankfully, it passed.
Both times it occurred I was browsing through FaceBook so yesterday I stayed off it, and I am going to be much more aware when I am on there. Whether it's connected or not I don't know but I don't want to take chances.
Anyway, what else?
Nuora, who has her own small clothing and zero waste business (Amore Mio Clothing), is currently making masks but particularly headbands, for NHS frontline workers. (The headbands make the wearing of masks more comfortable.) She's not charging for this but obviously material and postage cost money. If you'd like to donate even a small amount towards the cost, please message Sabi here.
Meanwhile, Son-in-law, who normally makes bits for bionic people in the Maxillo-Facial Department, has been redeployed and trained to push trolleys! He's currently taking linen and lunches around the wards.
Very proud of these two but proud of anyone who gets through this pandemic without a total breakdown.
Very sorry I am unable to volunteer for anything but as Husband has survived cancer, a blocked intestine, and a heart attack, I really don't want to take any chance of bringing the virus home to him, so I am staying put.
Apart from our daily walks with George.
When doing my online order I noticed they had asparagus in stock so decided to make a quiche. We had it for dinner last night.
What else?
Oh yes, on our way to the beach this morning we passed the workmen putting up a telegraph pole. I said, 'Why do they still need to put up telegraph poles? We have the internet now.'
Husband said, 'How do you think the internet gets to us?'
I waved my arms in the air. 'From the sky.'
Apparently, although that is true in some cases, we still get internet down the wire via BT. Isn't life amazing? I still don't understand how television works.
And speaking of things in the sky, I went outside last night to try and see these satellite things that were supposed to be passing overhead.
I saw something but there was only one of it and it was going in the wrong direction. I've seen shooting stars and they're very shootish while this was steady and straight. I know what you're thinking and I agree: it must have been a UFO. Which really is even better than seeing man-made satellites.

You are making the right choice to isolate. I hope both of you stay well.
Our spouses are only as safe as we keep them. Unfortunately, the converse is also true. I have asparagus growing around the foundation of our house. I have to pick them so that they don't grow up behind our rough cedar siding. Unfortunately, I cannot resist temptation and eat the spears as I pick them, so there is no cooking them into anything. (I'm not a cook, anyway!) We get our internet through glass (fiber optical) that is buried.
Personally, I believe the internet (telephone, television, radio) is gotten to us via magic. As good an explanation as any!
The quiche looks really wonderful!!’
PipeTobacco
That's a very artfully arranged quiche!
THanks, Lisa.
I'm not a huge fan of asparagus, CopCar, but maybe I would like it more fresh from the ground.
You are a woman after my own heart, Pam.
Thanks, PipeTobacco. It tasted good too.
I know what to do with a spear, Debra!
I'm thoroughly impressed...your quiche looks splendid! Don't feel guilty about not volunteering. You're doing valuable work, keeping you and your husband well fed and fit and out of harm's way.
Seniors and isolation is a given. Stay safe!
Your quiche looks good Liz, I love asparagus. I had a crying episode the other day, after a fall, it was tiredness and maybe a bit of feeling vulnerable. Definitely stay away from FB, some of it is good and funny but some of it negative. Stay safe.
