I had a brilliant idea!
AS they recommend washing with soap and water as the best way to fight the virus may i suggest that we take it one step further? Gargle with liquid soap. Maybe even snort it.
There, don't you think that's brilliant? My children were less than impressed than with my idea but I think I shall write to Boris Johnson and suggest it. I might even write to the head of WHO; I mean why keep this potentially life-saving idea for the British?
In less helpful news, my Monday morning fitness class has been cancelled until May because the majority of attendees fall into the 70+ age group. The fact we're all healthy and fit doesn't seem to matter, and nor does the fact that exercise helps boost the immune system. The teacher is very cross.
One more helpful suggestion: if your library hasn't yet closed borrow more books. They don't seem to be under threat of temporary closure yet but it must only be time before someone realises the potential for cross-infecting with all those books being handled and passed between people.

Everything is closed here now, including libraries. Every class and activity I had scheduled for the next couple of months has now been cancelled either by the city or the province.
Gosh. I don't know if our government is being sensible in delaying such tactics or foolhardy.
We are getting very mixed messages here, there are some people self isolating and others carrying on as if there isn't a deadly virus threatening to kill us! I just got back from Tescos where someone looked at me very oddly for wiping the trolley handle with a wipe.
I know, Joe. I wish there was a simple decree so we didn't have to make our own decisions!
I had a blood draw, this morning, then stepped next door to the pharmacy to receive my second Shingrix shot. The guy who gave it to me (30-something?) said something about, "Did you ever think you'd live to see the day when we would have such a scare?" My answer: I heard my parents talk about (and had a friend who was disabled as a result of) the diptheria outbreak. I lived through (although, my younger sister did not survive them) outbreaks of measles, mumps, scarlet fever, whooping cough, and polio. I'm not as concerned about the COVID-19 as we were, back in the day, about the older diseases, because I'm confident that there will be an effective vaccination within a couple of years. There are just a few more billion people to be exposed with COVID-19 than were there in previous outbreaks.
Cop Car
Gargle? Snort? I'm gonna shoot it.
I expect the libraries will close here but not yet. Time to stock up for sure!
We've now got no libraries, cafes or restaurants, museums, cinemas or concerts. But it has at least stopped raining day in and day out.
Here in Germany, Churches, Mosques, Synagoges etc are all being compulsorily closed.
We Atheists have been trying to achieve that for decades, now some tiny virus does it for us within a few weeks :-)
Effectively the law is now saying that centralised prayer doesn't work ;-)
Bet Pence won't go that far . . .
Well, since I make my own bar soap, I guess gargling and snorting are out for me. Things are closing here though the library is still open.
I am not too concerned, CopCar, but I understand there are lots of scared people about for good reason.
Let me know how that goes, Tasker.
Marie, I just read that libraries are to be re-purposed for other community stuff - not sure what.
Coronavirus is God's punishment on all the atheists, Stu, obviously.
Wow, do you, Marie? How lovely.
