Actually can't remember much about Christmas eve either. I know we went to Daughter's for dinner and then I went to Zac's for the final bible study of the year allowing me to take our now traditional Christmas photo. We were down on numbers because it was Christmas eve but the faithful regulars were all there.
Christmas Day
You've already seen my hula hoop but Husband also gave me a fancy microphone and headphones so I can start work on my podcast! I plan to serialise my first novel, This Time Next Year, prior to publishing the sequel, as yet unnamed. Or written.
Younger Son and family plus Nuora's brother over from Italy joined us for lunch. Turkey well-cooked/over-cooked depending on whether you listen to Husband or me. Roast potatoes a disaster because I foolishly decided to use new potatoes and that was a bad choice. Soggy roasties.
Daughter and family joined us as we were finishing lunch and there was much excitement as we opened presents. Lots of lovely home-made gifts. Very special. (Not home-made by me. I am not that talented.)
Relaxing in front of the television when everyone had gone I heard a rumble rumble. 'George is going to be sick,' I said. Too full to move fast enough to get him out in time. Too many Christmas treats obviously.
Boxing Day
A day on our own. Thought I'd chill, do a bit of jigsaw and watch Call the Midwife. But then decided I'd cook instead. Prepared braised cabbage and ratatouille - ready for whenever - and meringues and semifreddo for Nuora's birthday the next day.
That was after we'd had a lovely Boxing Day walk on the beach. It took a long time to persuade George to come out of the river. 'I can't come, Mum.'
'I have to ...'
... rescue this stone.'
