Don't get too close

After a very good eating week and two exercise classes I have lost precisely nothing. I am in a big sulk and am walking around kicking things. (I assured George I wouldn't kick him.)

I am definitely having a large chunk of Parmesan grated on my spag bol tonight.

I'm sure it's just water retention . . . .

Whatever it is I wish it would ... go away, Debra!

Frustrating, isn't it, Marie?

Eating pasta and expecting to lose weight?
Put the parmesan on a salad instead!

No, no, Stu. Pasta is a free food on this diet! I can eat as much as I like. I think the battle is in my brain: I can't see how I can eat so much pasta etc and it's okay. And if I eat much more salad I will start bunny-hopping. Then again that might help me lose weight.

Frequently, weight reduction is not noticeable in the first week when one tries to lose in a healthy fashion (better food, exercise). Only restrictive, “fad” diets tend to show loss the first week. You likely will see numerical change this next week.

Also be sure to increase fluid intake... it helps to “rev up” metabolism.

I've managed to lose 8 pounds in a year. Whoopee. Hardly worth the effort. Still I didn't gain that much so I should be pleased. Personally I found just being more active burnt off those extra pounds not really my diet.

Maybe it's God's way of saying you are slim enough. If you go lower you might get sick. Maybe.

I'll keep trying.

Welcome LL Cool Joe.
