Granny rocks too - and George

You may or may not be familiar with the trend on FaceBook at the moment for decorated stones. In particular, stones that are left in strategic spots to be found by fellow stone hunters, photographed, shared on FaceBook and re-hidden.

You join a Such-and-such place Rocks group, e.g. Gower Rocks, to share your finds and as well as building community and linking people - stones turn up all over the country (and, yes, I know that's probably bad for the environment) - it's fun. At least I think it is.
One of the stones we found
I suppose it's primarily aimed at children but many of the stones I've seen are intricately decorated obviously by adults. As my grandchildren don't seem to be especially interested in painting stones, or even excited at finding them - unlike Granny - and I've now bought a pack of Sharpies particularly for stone designing, this afternoon I set about doing my first.

I decided I needed a theme so fitting in with the Gower Rocks I came up with Granny rocks too!
Unfortunately I used a little too much varnish too close to the stone and it's run a little but I shall make some more when I've collected extra stones.
Of course when I told George what I was doing he wanted in on it too.

As school starts again tomorrow I've probably missed the peak of stone searching activity but never mind. I enjoy myself.
