Just not wearing the monitor.
'I set up my new fitbit,' I told Husband proudly.
'Well done you little techy thing. Is it linked to your computer?'
'You mean sync-ed. Yes it is.'
We were out walking George and, a few minutes later, I stopped to see what my heart rate was. I peered at the various numbers.
'You need your glasses,' Husband said. (He's always telling me I should wear my glasses all the time and accuses me of vanity in spite of me explaining that I will fall over if I wear my short glasses for normal things.)
'No, I can see the numbers,' I said. 'I just don't know what they mean. I'll have to check and maybe look it up when I get home and I've got my glasses on.'
I'm home now. I still can't work out what things are. The only thing I can tell for sure is the time. It's not actually a Fitbit, you see; it's an old model of a vivofit, which was less than half the price of a Fitbit and got better reviews. But it doesn't have a little instruction booklet. I know, I know, you can probably look stuff up online but I like a little booklet. Oh wait ...

So heart rate looks like that third box, which means my heart rate is currently 10- 2. That's either incredibly high or incredibly low. In fact I might even be dead.
Whatever I should probably go straight to hospital. Do not pass Go. Do not collect £200. Or I could look it up on t'internet.
Excuse the 20 minute delay. Apparently I have to be wearing the heart monitor in order for it to work. Who'd have thought it? I don't think I'll be wearing this monitor very much; it's not comfortable especially with the remnants of my shingles hanging about.
But not only do I have to be wearing it I have to sync it and do stuff with it but at least it's working now. My heart rate is 0- 78. I don't know what that means. Well, I assume the 78 is my actual heart rate but what's the 0?
I'm alive and hungry so I guess all is well.
P.S. One good thing about the vivofit is that it doesn't instantly challenge you to do 10,000 steps a day. It starts at 7,500 and gradually increases as you regularly meet your target. So I am currently 635 steps over target. That's a nice feeling.

I have no idea how many steps I take a day. But it must be plenty because I walk for at least 30 minutes a day. I'll pass on the fitbit and the computer syncing.
