Forgive the boringness of this post ...

But I'm bored.

Preparing my manuscript to upload to Amazon for publishing as a kindle book I discovered that the software doesn't recognise indented tabs and paragraph indents have to be done via the settings tab.
So that's 381 pages that need amending.

Fortunately Husband came to my rescue and taught me about setting Styles, which makes it a little easier but I still have to go right through and designate each paragraph and remove lots of tabs.
A girl needs a lot of tea breaks - and chocolate - to get that done. (Completed so far = 127 pages.)

And I've been thinking: I probably need to publish a print version as well as an eBook. I'm thinking Lulu or again through Amazon. Any thoughts?

My wife keeps complaining that I use styles and she doesn't understand them. She's a whizz with spreadsheats, but styles, no.

3rd attempt to type the Captcha code
4th attempt
6th attempt
7th attempt
8th attempt - I'm certain the 7th was correct
9th attempt

Styles make stuff a lot easier, steve. I wish I'd taken the time to find out about them before!

Do I have Captcha? I didn't know that!

I think Steve means the word verification code. What's up with the change??? Seems I'm needing at least 3 tries now, too.

Anyhoo, good luck with the book - you are a lot further along than I am in publishing anything.

Here we go with the WV...

I'm following the publishing process with interest, even if I don't have any useful comments to make....

Everything looks different on the Comments page now, leslie. I don't know what's going on.

That's fine, nick. It's a learning curve.

They came up with a new word verification program which was awful. They revised it and it is only mostly awful. Complaints are still being registered on the help forum, where I am lobbying heavily to get rid of it.

I don't use it and don't have a spam problem, but I guess some people do.

I have done books with blurb.com --photobook projects on a small scale. I don't know if it would be practical for you but worth looking into. I don't know about any others.

Oh, and the comment popup page has changed. If it is difficult to navigate, try maximizing the window. Then you can see everything.
