I used to bake bread with my first graders each year. We mixed the ingredients in a plastic zip bag (measurement=math practice) and kneaded it in the bag. Allowed it to rise then punched it down and formed loaves. We took it to the kitchen and the cooks baked it for us.

I've tried it at home and not been successful. Do you think you have to be six years old to manage it?

I use the bread machine now and do bake. I made hot cross buns the other day.

You're making your own bread? That's amazing!

I once tried to make bread, knowing nothing about it and didn't realize you need to kneed for a good 15 minutes, there's quite an art to it. And I left the knobbly yeast flour in my drawers (not my undies, my drawers) and some naughty mice ate the lot!

Making a good loaf of bread is an art and it appears you have the magic touch.

Homemade bread is usually given us, as anything that involves the word "dough" is a disaster in my kitcher.

Looks pretty good!! Bread is not easy, which is kinda surprising when you consider what a staple it is.

I'm getting adept at producing an edible brown soda loaf using a yoghurt based recipe. It's good because it's a lot less salty than usual.
