Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
In the first third of the painting heaven, indicated by the gold colouring, appears to be in the sky a long way off but as you close in on the girl, who seems dejected and down, waiting at the bus stop you can see the gold in the tear in her eye.

Wow those are interesting pieces. A far cry from traditional devotional art but I like them
Very symbolic!
Very interesting take on the Beautitudes.
We all have different ideas as the meaning, because despite our interpretation there is a blessing with each.
Fascinating take on Beatitudes! :)
I love that "tryptich" or whatever the blinkin' hell you're supposed to call them. OK plain English: I love those 3 paintings in a manga-esque style.
I got 2 packs of 20 crayons yesterday on special offer for 14p the lot! I was having a pee round the back of an empty house when I found a picture board which I drew a cartoon portrait on. I had told my Friend Paddadadadster that I was going to do stuff in the Mr Men/Simpsons type style then I presented him a finished work and he thought it was really funky. I'm doing acrylic paintings eventually in this style I love acrylic cartoons.
And cartoons are the only type of art I'm any good at!
Happy Weekend and Woofy Ooof Groand Whistle Bo! to George
