We haven't had enough to eat ...

so I spent a large part of yesterday afternoon baking ham in guinness and red cabbage with pears. When I served it up (plus leftover turkey, of course) Husband said, 'Is that all we're having?' One day I shall slap him. Really I will.

I also made a birthday cake for Girlfriend who arrived back in the middle of the night. (Her toothbrush is in the bathroom so she must have got back safely.)
And we watched (on television) the Ospreys thrash local rivals, the Scarlets, 60-17. The Scarlets (used to be Llanelli) are doing well this season and are above Ospreys in the league so the game was expected to be closer. Always nice when you beat old rivals.

Best bit in the game though was when the ref said, 'Come on, boys, there's no need for handbags.'

And today we're off to Devon! Triple Yay!!!!! Do you realise we haven't seen GrandDaughter for three - yes 3 - weeks? So it will be Christmas all over again.

No , having just caught up on your Christmas blogs , I can see why you were worried and rushed to top everyone up with this little snack .
I'll just go back to eating my last leftover turkey now .....

Fantastic cake Liz ... super cake maker. I cannot remember when I made a cake last .. !!

As for food .. I don't want to see anymore Ham or Turkey .. My hubby went a bit mad on the food side this year , .. I had one helping and that was it .. until the next day, and the next day LOL

How did you survive not going to Devon or seeing your Grand-daughter for 3 whole weeks .. . I have a grandson who I have not seen for a year or more .. He lives in Scotland with his mum .. (ex- partner of son) Have fun .. next year you will have two to look after .. oh I do have 4 grandchildren.

Glad to hear Girlfriend made it back safely. And enjoy your trip--I can't believe you've lasted three weeks without seeing Granddaughter!

You truly love to cook and do a great job.

Have a safe, joyous trip to see grandchild. I know it will be like Xmas.

I am still reading Jane Eyre between household chores and end-of-year responsibilities which include cleaning out files and getting ready for filing income tax for income we do not have.

Never mind the Ospreys, our friend in Melbourne is very peeved that England looks set to regain the Ashes for the first time in 24 years.

That's a very glamorous cake... talking about ale, I had a steak-ale casserole from Iceland. You had to defrost it for 10 hours and microwave for 12 minutes. It wasn't bad but I could do way better myself. My stews are unbeatable. Restaurant standard, "North African". And they stain anything they spill on because of the massive paprika overdose in my spicing!
