Word may have to be reloaded. It was when Son-in-Law reformatted my computer by way of getting rid of a couple of viruses that had snuck in and upgraded me to Windows 7. Now, mind you, I really do appreciate it when he fixes my computer for me, but there is always a suprise of some sort at the end.
Look in your start menu for games. It has its own section and has bunches of them, not just minesweeper and spider and free cell.
Click on the "Start" menu and locate the "Control Panel." Click on it.
Click on "Programs and Features" from the menu presented in the "Control Panel" window.
Find the option "Turn Windows Features On or Off" in the left-hand menu.
Click on the plus sign at the left of the "Games" option to expand and show the list of games you can install. Toward the bottom, you will see "Spider Solitaire." Click on the check mark next to this option.
Click "OK." "Spider Solitaire" will now install to your computer.

You should've seen me the day I thought I'd deleted my entire blog!!! Hopefully your Word is lurking around somewhere. Fingers crossed!

The OS and the Office stuff are always separate so you need to reinstall office from your office installation disc.
