Lenten thanks 6

I can't decide what to be grateful for today.

I mean, I have loads but, on previous days, one thing has just sprung out at me. So, dum de dum, what shall it be?

I know: I am grateful for good health.

I have a sniffly cold at the moment - and probably if you judged by my blog you'd think I'm always ill as I moan about the slightest thing - but really I am one of the healthiest people I know.

I spent nearly a lifetime being a hypochondriac and worrying my life away until the doctor gave me a little white happy pill; now I'm not only healthy, I think I'm healthy too.

And when I see what others have to deal with, either long or dramatic short-term illnesses, I am especially grateful for something I usually take for granted.

That's a good thing to be grateful for indeed.
I always think that there are 3 things in life you can't pay for and are fortunate to have.

Love
Sanity
Health

I know I'm ill, lets face it I have blogged about it, but in general I'd say that I do actually have all 3, after all there are people who are worse than me with illness.

I am enjoying this series of posts, they are very good Liz.

Much love
Lia

Never take good health for granted, it is a blessing.

I spent almost twenty years working in a hospital and every day was grateful for working there and not being a patient!

Brilliant, for without our health it is difficult to be thankful for anything else. I know from dealing with a chronic malady that it makes me grateful for every day without pain.

My Dad is suffering from one thing and another over this last few years.

So good health is just perfect for your Lenten theme. We must all be grateful for our health.

Very interesting, I was quite the hypochondriac myself - and since I went on a happy pill of my own I notice it has subsided almost completely! I didn't even realize it was something that could be treated!

I too am grateful for good health, thanks for the reminder!

I'm with you on that one. I met an old friend and colleague here in the USA yesterday - he had Lymes Disease really badly a couple of months back. He is much better now but may have permanent damage in his face so one side is paralised with Bell's Palsy and he struggles at times to speak and blink.

My niece is unwell with ME and only in her 20s. A friend who turned 50 is back in a wheelchair again due to his long term issues...

I often take my relatively excellent health for granted... I shouldn't!
