Oh poo!

When I was in work this morning, Husband was working in his office (aka our dining-room) when he heard a thunk from upstairs. On investigating he discovered a big fat pigeon in the spare bedroom. A big fat scared pigeon. We don't know how long he'd been in there but it must have been some time judging by the amount of poo. By the way, did you know that pigeon poo is green? Well, this pigeon's was.

That's no way to have to spend the day, cleaning up after a stupid bird.
Silly creature should be outside, I thought it was curiousity that killed the cat lol
Oh and did I ever confess that I can't spell ha ha.
much love,
Lia xx.

Pigeons are amazingly stupid. Presumably it couldn't figure out that the way it got in was also the way to get out?

I am not sure whether to think poor you for the mess you have to clean up or poor pigeon...

Indeed, dragonstar!

I think was a stupid piegon though, lia!

It did come down the chimney, nick, so i suppose it was a bit difficult for it to find its way out.

Poor me definitely, cherrypie! It was an exceptionally stupid pigeon as when Husband tried to point it towards the open window it kept going the other way!

I wasn't laughing, dina! Muttering, yes!

That's exactly why so many town councils 'control' the pigeon population and why feeding them is frowned upon! They are very messy, bless them.

We sometimes get small birds trapped in the conservatory and have to go round poop-spotting after releasing them! They broke my pitcher plant too. Twice.

I could give youo a beautiful recipe for "pigeon in the pot".....

birds do 'shit green' if they have been eating any green foliage as part of their diet. Harry is good at dive-bombing me or Raki or the beige carpet with his green turds. You really didn't need to know that, did you?

That sounds like absolutely no joy. I sympathize - we used to have lost birds inside regularly and I always hated the panicky flutterings. And indeed the poo that could still be found in dark corners after months...

Pigeons, which are actually incredibly intelligent birds, poop green when they're stressed or have eaten poisoned food. They don't generally eat greenery, they are primarily grain eaters. They sometimes head down a chimney when chased by a raptor, or if they're disoriented for a physical reason.
