On Friday evening we settled down to watch Doc Martin, an hour-long light-hearted drama on ITV (the commercial channel). I say 'we settled down' ...
In the first interval Husband got up to get a drink. (I should explain that I either sit on the floor at Husband's feet or on the sofa with my feet on him so every time he gets up he disturbs me.) In the second interval it was yogurt and a chocolate bar he wanted; in the third he needed a pee.
Meanwhile George, not even attending to the intervals made me get up four times, to let him out, to let him in, to let him out, and to let him in again.
Even when we watch BBC, thanks to the wonders of the digibox we can pause even live sport (how do they do that?!). I daren't attempt to watch a film: can you imagine the number of disruptions?
Tonight I confiscated the remote control.

Are you telling us you can watch an entire programme without needing to eat, drink, pee or find some more tissues? Your self-discipline is commendable....
Funny you should mention that, nick ... to be continued.
I know what you mean I live with three men and sometimes there are four of them when a friend stays here with us, they never sit still, one of them is always on the move.
It's when they channel surf in between breaks that they drive me the most mad. Or talk through my shows, but moan if I do it.
Guess who has the remote in our house? That'll be me.
Much love,
Lia xx
Jenny's the one who channel surfs in our household. Drives me nuts!
The best thing to do is to sit besides the door, there your husband wouldn't disturb you and George can go in and out just as he wishes. You can still hear the program on TV, lol !
