My diet went very well yesterday, Even though we went to a party in the evening. It was a buffet and I very carefully chose all the non-pastry things. And I only had one piece of garlic bread.
Then for dessert I had fruit salad - and just a teeny piece of raspberry pavlova. With a teensy-weeny drop of cream. And only about, um, 20 chocolate fingers. Followed by just a middling-sized lump of cheese and two or three or maybe four crispy cheesy twirly pastry things.
Then - and I blame Carol for this - she and I did rather embarrass ourselves when a bag of Maltesers was making the rounds ...

Yep, road to Hell, I've been down that road one too many times when food is concerned.
I did fairly well today at Life Group potluck--bad as buffets--as I took a pasta salad made with my diet in mind. Once person brought a berry/apple mixture with no sauce which was desserts---but there some bad temptations like coconut pie, my husband dared to consume in front of me, the maker of which gave him the leftovers to bring home...more road to Hell stuff to endure this week.
Oh yeah, Luckie got into my husband's hidden Persian Cinnamon Rolls--ate the whole box of 6 while we were at church--she may be on the road to Hell... she left the box.
I made roast chicken- oh and prawns for a starter and then we had trifle... see we live well despite the poverty...
There are always those tempters, that is my problem too...
I like that diet especially the chocolate fingere
Hubby made pan fried deer steak, salad with bacon dressing, and potatoes. Nothing low-cal here!
Sounds like my kind of diet - when faced with temptation, I do try awfully hard NOT to resist! lol
Yep, I can relate. When it comes to Maltesers all willpower dies quietly and quickly...
Diets, EW! Finger foods are so tempting, aren't they?
LOL, I popped over to your blog for your monochrome, but landed on your diet drama. Well, you are not alone in this. I could have written that. But you know....life is too short to deny yourself all the good things. Back to you diet again today. Or tomorrow.
Now I'm going to look for your monochrome.
Carolina
I can't diet when i see a buffet; there is just no stopping me!
your blog is great; thanks for the visit and comment on mine. I'll be back :)
Look at it this way Liz, you stinted on calries in the savoures to make head room for those delicious sweeties.... well I would rationalise it that way!
Dearie me, I read Vic Grace's comment as chocolate lingerie. Excuse me while I have a quick mental detox. As for Maltesers, I shamefully admit that polishing off an entire packet is not unknown. Hula Hoops can get the better of me too.
Hahahahaha!! Sooo familiar! LOL!
But remember, you can always climb back on the wagon. Don't give up altogether!
chocolate lingerie? what sort of blog is this!! ;0)
i do like chocolate fingers and maltesers and chocolate buttons.
I can't hear about a party with a buffet without thinking of the movie the Diary of Bridget Jones.
1kg gained not lost for me this week,
I'm sure SO sure that wasn't the extra pasta I've been eating because I actually gave up chocolate for Lent!
