My bad back

I am sitting here with a hot water bottle stuffed down the back of my trousers.

I was in Sainsburys earlier and all of a sudden, with no warning or reason, my back twanged. But don't worry, I'm fine ... as long as I don't stand upright, lift anything or climb stairs. Oh and deep breathing is a no-no too.

I had to go to Sainsburys because our cupboards were bare and I feared Younger Son would start eating me if I didn't but the place was heaving. I had to drive around the car park twice to find a space. I think everyone is preparing to be snowed-in for three weeks at least. I've just about got enough for three days.

Mmmm, this hot water bottle is nice ...

Poor Liz! Backs can be miserable things. Hope it gets better very soon.
And thank you so much for the kind comment you left on my monochrome post, it really made my day!

Get well soon...

3 blue valiums would chill you out really nice and melt those acheing bones...

(OK I'm kidding, unless you're a terminal pillpopper, which I take it you are NOT, Elizabeth, you'd only need one and then feel lovely and zonked)

seriously though if it doesn't improve say your friend got prescribed valiums for a bad back and they worked wonders etc etc... ask for blue ones you know how stingy drs are with the milligrams you gotta start asking for the most, then he/she might compromise with yellow (5mg)... careful though! ~ coz if you're really unlucky you'll get fobbed off with white (2mg and only designed for grannies cutting down off 50 year habits though GPs see fit conveniently to ignore this. As my friend Rebsie was saying re doctor underprescribing (OK she DOES have a 35-year smackhabit) "they just LOVE keeping you on the edge... just hanging on..."

ooo, Liz, I don't know where this is coming from ~ today I was prattling on about the joys of working the 12 steps. hey maybe you got my Darker Side tonight ~ tee-hee ;->...

Sorry about your sore back, Liz. It's a good excuse to take it easy, though.

I went to see a spinal surgeon about my back last year. I used to work for this guy and he told I was getting old and falling to bits. Charming...

Ooooh, I do know how you're feeling. Take it easy and alternate heat with cold to both ease pain and relieve inflammation. If it doesn't settle down within a week, see your doctor.

THanks, neva.

Your place or mine, suburbia?

Thanks, dragonstar.

I think valium might interact with my happy pills, gleds!

What a nice man, puss! I hope you kicked him.

Oh, leslie, my pain is nothing compared to yours! Honestly it's just a little twinge really. I'm sure it will pass soon.

Hope you're better soon too, stu.

I know how you feel - I had that back in December - not funny. But it got better remarkably quickly really. And now I try to remember to do the exercises that keep it better.
