Gower cliff walk

From Langland.
To Caswell.

George was wondering how much had to be paid in bribes to get planning permission for the monstrosity just on the edge of the beach. I told him it was built in the late sixties and was probably considered tasteful then. He looked at me doubtfully, 'Could that ever have been considered tasteful?'
I have to admit he speaks a lot of sense sometimes.

This is just idylic.

How could that ever have been thought tasteful? It looks like a small nuclear power station. Or a cardboard box factory. Whoever agreed to it should be shot (if they haven't been shot already).

I don't ever remember seeing that eyesore - which shows how look it has been since I was actually on Caswell bay.
I am sure they wouldn't allow it today... I am, aren't I?

Well, for moi, I can hardly wait to come and see the "eyesore" for myself. If it's as ugly as you say, I'll just turn towards the sea and admire it. :D

btw...feeling better every day!

I love where I live, largely because it is the "family manor" i.e. we've lived here for generations. However it is hardly an idylic location, although parts of the North Downs which are close are not bad... however sometimes I think I really ought to sever the ties and move somewhere that is really beautiful like this...
