ABC Wednesday - B

From Webster's Dictionary (probably from 1864).

In the inlets around Tofino, Vancouver Island, at low tide the bears on the isles come down to the seashore to look under rocks for crabs.

Meanwhile, in British Columbia, one bear is happy to graze in a field!

To take part in ABC Wednesday, go here.

xx

I would love to see a bear in it's natural environment :-) But not too close!

They are sooo cute, it`s hard to belive they could ever hurt anyone. By the way - the norwegian word for bear are bjørn, and that is also a mans name. Unfortunately my father is dead, but he`s name vas Bjørn :)

I'd love to see bears too, I want to watch them catch fish! You know someone told me the other day that a Polar bear had crossed with a Grizzly, they called it a Pizzle!! I thought a Grolar was better!!

I have bears, too. You will see them later and you will be amazed! Promise!

What a cute bear. There is a bear that visits my parents yard but I like to watch him from a distance!

I actually still haven't seen a real bear. I am happy you get to see one outside the zoo.

My "B" entry is posted here and here. Hope you'll take a look as well. Thanks!

Fun photos. Bears are cute as long as you don't get too close. ;-)

I guess the bears think that food is food no matter where they get it.

Close-up, I prefer the Teddy-variant that my children had.

Great photos--I hope you had a zoom lens for that last bear photo, though:)

Look at those bears. WOW! They are so cute. But scary! We were watching Berenstein Bears today on TV because it is a snow day and the whole world is shut down... YAY!

Oh very cool. I love these shots. happy B to you Liz!

Don't they look sweet? I saw one crossing the road in Canada, but just a baby. Momma Bear must have been quite close .. not a good time or place for a walk.

Finding crabs? Quite resourceful, aren't they?

Like most of the others, I love to see a bear in it's natural environment - just not too close! Your photos are Beautiful.

I'm also here on behalf of the ABC Team to thank you for posting - though I'd be here anyway, honest!
