Our church runs a youth and community project based in Red Cafe in Mumbles. The ethos of the cafe is to be as environmentally friendly as reasonably possible. Much of the furniture is made from recycled materials. Recognise the base of this table?
Washing machine drums. Metal, of course!

It looks like my washing machine!! how clever!
I recycled the glass of my old washing machine: it is a very resistant salad bowl :)
Very clever choice for the theme! happy PH and happy weekend.
Oh wow - what a creative table at that... Very cool recycled metal!
Oh I love it - how creative!!!
Happy Weekend.
We used to use washing machine tubs for large plants. Functional and interesting and free draining. Have a great weekend. I love the name Mumbles. I went for a holiday to Muchals, just south of Aberdeen once.
I think that is too cool! Very creative way to help our environment :)
What a great way to recycle. It's also very attractive. Happy weekend.
What wonderful tables they make. Good Photo for this weeks theme!
Excellent use of washing machine drums. I've got a kanckered machine awaiting collection by the council. One word and the drum is yours! Happy weekend Liz
Brilliant! I'd never have realised what they were.
Hello Liz:
What a wonderful idea. I sort of thought that I recognised the drums but then my mind went along the cheese grater theme....only in a Giant's Castle, bear in mind!
You'll have to excuse me...I've been cooking trillions of meatballs and grating loads of Parmesan Cheese for Husband's Birthday celebration today....
Everbody likes them except me!

Woah, very cool construction! And yeah, recyling is good!! :)
Great post for this week's theme Liz. Despite being recycled materials it looks just fine and very mod. Have a great weekend.
That is interesting cool! Happy hunting!
Looks like a huge vegetable shredder!!! *lol* Cool concept of the table :)
What a great way to reuse metal!
That's very creative. Happy weekend. =)
Super! I love the creative use of the materials.
I had no idea what to do with this week's theme, so I'm afraid I did stretch it a bit:

I knew that !

Happy Hunting.
Very creative table! and nice entry for this weeks theme!
What a clever concept to use a washing machine drum like this! Fantastic shot!
Your church not only has good taste and good ethics, it has good sense: the metal pedestal will surely survive the kick marks that always go on below the surface :-)
But that's very creative. :)
That's a really great idea! I just had my washing machine repaired at great expense... I'm very glad I didn't have to convert it into a table just as yet!!! :)
Happy weekend Liz!
That is such a great table and photo, too. I love innovation and Eco friendly things.
My photos are here if you have time please check them out.

That is a very interesting table, what a clever idea.
If I'd known they were making a table, I could have donated our old washing machine for the cause...
