Listen to this!

Yesterday I dropped a kilogram bag of basmati rice on the floor. George decided he liked it. (Don't tell anyone but I had to scoop some up off the floor to cook for dinner last night.)

Okay, let's see if it works doing it through youtube instead of Blogger.

Update
Thank you for your concern about George but he seems fine. Just don't stand behind him. If anything he seems rather puzzled by it all. He went out this evening, coopied down, farted explosively and jumped out of his skin. He ran to the other side of the garden and started trying to look at his bottom in a most 'what was that?' way.

My friend has a rule that if anything drops on the floor, providing the floor is reasonably clean, then if it is picked up within three seconds, it will still be usable.

OH! No video! Will come back later!

I can't see the video, either! :(

But hey - that's what retrievers do! They retrieve! I'm sure he was going to give it back to you ... eventually.

LOL!

I hope it didn't expand and give him the colliwobbles.

Brilliant! Loud crunching noises echoing through the kitchen. Dogs are very good at clearing up.

I hope he doesn't get a sore stomach.

Oh, poor George! He has no idea he did it to himself! He so reminds me of Bocephus. Whenever I spill anything on the kitchen floor, I yell, "Clean up on Aisle 7". Both dogs come running to lick the floor clean. I have to sweep when I shove them outside, or Bo eats everything I am trying to sweep up!

Laughed so much at your update!! Glad you could post the vid eventually. I can't believe he wanted to eat dry rice. I presume the bit you scooped up to cook was pre George slobber?!!

I'm so glad George isn't suffering too many ill effects from the rice--that way I can go ahead and laugh at the idea of your scooping up some for supper:)

LOL! It must have expanded in his stomach!

Actually you are probably lucky he was not really harmed as one commenter said it expands it can expand in the stomach when they drink and burst the stomach if too much is eaten. This happens to cows sometimes when they get into the grain and overeat.

However I am sure you were there pretty quick to limit his intake.

Thanks for the support Liz. I won't put a comment above as despite what has happened I am trying not to fan the flames.
