Tear (him) off a strip. Twist the strip by a half turn. Glue the ends together. You now have a loop with a 1/2 twist in it.
How to test for one-sidedness.
Mark a spot on the surface. You can now run your finger around the loop keeping on the surface. Eventually you will reach the marked spot again WITHOUT HAVING CROSSED AN EDGE.
This is called a Moebius strip; it is one-sided. QED.
PS: When done with the loop, take a pair of scissors and cut it down the middle along the loop and see what you get :-)
