Ob-la-Di,Ob-La-Da, life goes on,
Lalala how life goes on
This photo must have been taken in the spring of 1953 on the steps of the house in which I was born and grew up. It shows me on my my great-gran's lap, with my grandmother on the left and my mother on the right (as you look at the photo). Tra la la, how life goes on ...
(That's my grandfather at the back and two of my cousins in front.)

Liz, I really love looking at your family photos. Makes me realise how precious these images are. i have one photo of my Dad and millions of my children
Gosh you're on the ball this morning, hippy mama (I keep going to call you hippy! You might not like that ...) I've only just got this up!
Idon't mind Amanda, hippy, hippy mama... Its half term!! I've just realsied so we're just pottering and 'putering...
I went to bed about 2ish, got up at 3.24...been up since just before 8...
Oh, I remember that song so well! Didn't Marmalade cover it?
I love old photos of the family, just looking at them takes you right back, doesn't it? Funny how fashions change too, even in amateur photography. We have a lot of those posed family 'snapshots' in our albums from our own childhood, but few of our own ... we tended to snap our kids in action!
Nice segue Liz.
Looks like a happy bunch...
Hope you are having a great "o" day...
Good choice and what a bonnie baby you were :-)
That's a lovely photo and reminds me that my mother has some good ones in her albums. I was born in 1953. I loved looking through our old photos when I was young, but our lads show no interest in ours!
We are not far from each other in themes today!
And life goes on...
Lovely family photo Liz - great grandmother! Wow!
I love Ob-la-di.
Ob La Di! What a fabulous old photo. Look at that cute baby Liz!
Long time ago.
A great photo of 4 generations! and the song I remember very well!
Great choice and Obadi how life DOES go on - far too fast these days! :D
I always like to think ahead and guess which song you're going to use each week, but I couldn't think of a single one starting with O. Of course, this is a great song, and now the tune is going through my head.
A lovely photo of your family--how lucky you were to have 4 generations in this picture! I read your comment this morning on my blog--I understand, but I'm sure they will come in good time. And I posted an ABC post this morning, but Blogger didn't understand my time frame:) Anyway, it's up now--and it's short--I hope you have time to check it out; I think you'll enjoy it, Liz.
Thankyou for the 'pink fluffy' things :0)
Now you know what song is going to be in my head for the rest of the day!!
Thanks I think.
Bear((( )))
Thats a lovely photo Liz, I like it a lot, so Oblah di etc.

I love those sort of old photographs. Will we leave anything as beautiful in this era of photoshop?!
OH!!!

O-riginal idea!
