Don't tell George!!

I've booked him in for 'the op' on Wednesday. I'm already stressed about it. I'd be less worried if it were Husband but George is so young and innocent ... and trusting.

But we're doing it because it said in the dog-training book that it's less cruel than allowing him to have urges he can't fulfil. And several people have suggested it as a possible way to cure the wanderlust.

And loads of dogs have it done. And they're all right. So he'll be fine. I know he will. Really.

Actually he's not my favourite person tonight as he must have rolled in horse poo when we were out and he's made the whole house smell. But still ...

Poor Georgie! He will be OK though, and probably calm down a bit too. We'll be thinking of you all on Wednesday.....

Horse poo! Well, it's a better smell than otter spraint. Or mink!!! Trust me, you don't want either of those in the house!

He'll be fine and he'll be calmer and much happier (that's when he has forgiven you)

he'll be fine and calmer. All males of lusting ability have been done here. He'll be a bit groggy and look very sorry for himself (obviously!) but it is really better for him (and you!)

DD borrowed my favourite hoodie to go the stables in... her friend told her a joke, she lauged so much that she fell over and landed in horse poo. I've told her to keep the hoodie!

Poor George! If it does calm him down~please let me know! I have wanted to do it to our puppy~but Mr. Honey doesn't. Please let us know how it all works out!
Horse Poo to us is like good foo foo to them! That is why they always roll in dead animals.

Yes, Liz, he will be okay. But I know how you feel...I had Mitzi and Bella neutered a couple of months ago. Talk about worried parents...we're sad cases, aren't we?

Anyway, it does cure wonderlust in a dog...which is a good thing and I think neutered animals are nicer pets in the long run.

Good luck to George.

Any blokes want to comment?

I expect he will be a bit groggy and need 'puppy love'. The worst thing for a labrador - no food beforehand!!!

He will be fine Liz, we did it to our male dog before Cleo. We did not do it for that reason, but here male dogs who are not fixed cost three times as much to register with the city.

Lord James stole my comment! Liz, you are too funny:)
George will be fine, though I understand your reluctance. In the long run it's best for him. I don't think it will stop his attraction to horse poo, though.

Glad the bees were taken to a good home. The bee-keepers look like something out of E.T. or a science fiction movie, don't they?
