I have a new title ...

Paper-pushing Administrative Bitch.

In the office this morning Alun and I were designing a poster. For contact details we gave Alun's name and his title: Linden Church Community Development Co-ordinator.
'It's not fair,' I grumbled. 'You have a much longer title than I do. I'm just Administrator.'
'We'll give you a new one then,' said Alun kindly. 'What about...' he had a think, 'Paper-pushing Administrative Bitch?'
At that we both started rolling round the floor laughing.

When we'd calmed down, Alun said, 'If I'd said that to anyone else, she'd have slapped me! But you see it as a badge of honour!'
'No-one's ever called me a bitch before!'

Later, when Chris came in, we were talking about the Sunday morning talks. Chris and Alun are doing a series looking at the Old Testament and Chris was saying that they do a lot of research and the difficult bit is putting it in a form suitable for the plebs. 'For Liz you mean?' Alun said.
'Well, yes, the lowest common denominator.'

So I'm a plebeian bitch. And this is a church office! Actually if it were a secular office I would probably have sued for harassment by now.

But I'll get my revenge ...

(P.S. Don't worry, I'm not upset. We have a good relationship - we must do actually to put up with what we all put up with.)

Well, it's been some time, but it sounds good.

You see how educational blogging is? I had to look that up!

True Story.
back in the mid-80s, at a japanese bank who shall remain nameless there was venture capital guy responsible for deciding which 'new technology' companies they would fund. His job title was "Chief Underwriter (New Technologies)". Just hope he never abbreviated it ;-)

It can be a fun place to work!

I suppose my abbreviation would be PAB, which isn't quite as bad, stu.

Liz, you don't have to prove anything to me. It took me as many as two visits (yes, I'm slow!) to realise that you are totally mad.

Oh thank you, dragonstar. I am deeply touched!
