Happy birthday tomorrow, Timmy t!

It's the birthday tomorrow of one of the young lads from church. As he's a racing driver I made him a cake like his car. I think it looks quite good but I have to tell you that it smells something awful! The black food colour that I used for the grey stripe and the tarmac stinks! It's ghastly!

It looks great. As long as it tastes great no one will care.

It looks pretty good to me. What makes it smell bad?

You'll have to let us know how he likes it.

That looks fantastic.

Given the smell you aren't like the woman off Vicar of Dibley are you streching the boudaries of acceptable incredients in cakes are you?.... :-)

In the bottle it has a sort of liquorice smell but when mixed with the icing it changes into something quite revolting and unidentifiable! I've beene ating bits of cake I cut off before decorating and it tastes nice. People will just have to hold their noses when they eat it!

I think the manufacturers of the food colouring might be stretching the boundaries of good taste!
