I went to get the milk in and ...

Yes, yuck is the word...
I remember many years ago when we had milk delivered like that, in glass bottles with little crimped on dust cover lids. The delivery services died out 20 or 30 years ago, though there may be some isolated pockets of the US where it is still done.

Perhaps he was short of milk for his (her) corn flakes this morning.
We are just re-starting home deliveries in our area - perhaps all is not lost with the UK culture!
I don't know how long the home delivery service can last. I think we're about the only ones on your street that still have it.
That and blue tits stealing the cream is a good reason for buying your milk at the supermarket.
Bloody hell disgusting thing!
That's the 1st thing I remember of Wales actually: on a damp night avoiding squishing all those SLUGS on the wet drive!
Hey Liz: this is what I look like! Wahey!!!
Keeping the milkman employed is a good reason for having it delivered. That and the fact that I'm too idle to carry it home.
Aw, Gleds, you're gorgeous!
Everyone seems to have bad memories of Wales. Gledwood with the slugs, Jams with neraly drowning. It's lovely here really!
No more slug milk for me, thnx!
Yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck!
Ugh!
